The Globe and Mail - Jason Tchir
So far this summer there has been a two-year old who died after being left in a parked car for hours and another child who had to be rushed to hospital after her mother left her in the car while she did her grocery shopping. Other than reporting it, how much can I legally do without making too much trouble for myself? Do I call 911 and wait? Perhaps ask them what I should do? Call 911 let them know and tell them I'm going to smash a window? I'd hate to wait and have a child or pet die and I'd break a window if all else failed, but what are the legal and financial consequences?
