COLERAIN TWP. – A 2-year-old boy died Easter Sunday afternoon after his father ran over him while backing his truck into their driveway, police said.

Drew Campbell was pronounced dead at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center after being flown there by helicopter, Hamilton County sheriff’s deputies said.

Steven G. Campbell, 26, was backing his 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck into his driveway in the 8200 block of Springleaf Lake Drive and failed to see his son, sheriff’s deputies said.

The driveway is on a steep slope in a cul-de-sac of new and under-construction homes.

The Campbell family gathered with friends and family Sunday afternoon at home. A relative said the couple were devastated and did not wish to speak with reporters.

No charges have been filed against Campbell, deputies said, but they will continue to investigate the death.
